The Maryland Institute of Court Reporting was created by three court reporters from different aspects of the profession.  With this knowledge and understanding of court reporting, we have brought together a program to afford the students a true insight into the world of reporting and all the great benefits it has to offer.

The goal of our program is to give you the training, tools to practice, and the practical insight into the profession to become reporters in the legal environment or to pursue careers in CART and captioning.
If you’re looking to embark on a new and exciting career, or have thought about a career change and think court reporting might be the answer, you’ve come to the right place. The Maryland Institute of Court Reporting is the place to train for the exciting and financially rewarding profession of court reporting.

Aside from the requirement that applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, there are no other “pre-requisites” or previous education necessary to enter our program.
