Important Information
For all courses, please click the Register Now button and submit your registration before the deadlines listed below. You will receive an invoice by email with instructions on how to pay by credit card.
NEW STUDENTS
New students entering the program must start by taking Theory I which starts in September of each year, followed by Theory II in the spring trimester. In addition to tuition, beginning students have to pay for a StenEd Theory pack and have a stenotype machine or keyboard app by the start of the first class.
GRADES & CERTIFICATION
In compliance with Maryland Higher Education Commission requirements, Baltimore City Community College maintains our program’s records for grade, attendance, completion and certification processing. This program comes under their Adult Continuing Education Department and is a non-credit course.
CLASS LOCATIONS
Around the world from wherever you are. Classes are conducted live virtually via Zoom Videoconferencing two nights per week, 7:00-9:00 PM ET.
SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS
Completion of the entire program takes two to three years, with two being the goal. Students who finish in two years or less are those that practice two+ hours per day or sign up for My Realtime Coach.
New students are also encouraged to enroll in a free Intro to Steno program prior to enrolling in Theory. There, you’ll learn how to write the stenotype alphabet, words, and phrases. It also affords the opportunity to make sure pursuing this career is right for you!
