GRADES & CERTIFICATION

In compliance with Maryland Higher Education Commission requirements, Baltimore City Community College maintains our program’s records for grade, attendance, completion and certification processing.  This program comes under their Adult Continuing Education Department and is a non-credit course.

CLASS LOCATIONS

Around the world from wherever you are.  Classes are conducted live via Zoom two nights per week for Theory I & II and one night per week for Speed, 7:00-9:00 PM ET

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS

Completion of the entire program typically takes two to three years with two being the goal. This is a self-paced course once students enroll in Speed Development.  Those who practice every day, complete all the recommended assignments in RTC, attend class regularly, participate in discussion and read-backs will be on track to complete the program in two years or less.

New students are also encouraged to enroll in a free Intro to Steno program through either Project Steno or NCRA’s “A to Z™” prior to enrolling in Theory.  There, you’ll learn how to write the stenotype alphabet, words, and phrases. It also offers the opportunity to make sure pursuing this career is right for you!

Fall 2025 Trimester

If necessary, dates and times are subject to change to go forward with a class. If that happens before the start of a trimester that you have registered and paid for, and you are unable to attend due to that new schedule, you will be refunded the amount paid.
